TMZ are scumbags.... everybody knows that...Jimi was nor a crackhead or a druggie... I knew Jimi.. talked with him all the time... even recorded a track with him.. acoustic guitar for an old 50s song he liked... in watching this video I can see Jimi is playing an old St Louis blues.. a made in Memphis guitar..(I think).. and this song has a great 80s type positive feeling... the 80s were really positive times....kind of like the 60s.... but now? to be honest, I think we are living in very cynical, skeptical, much darker era.... its like this dark shadow settled over everything.. about 20 years ago.. or at least since 9 11.... we are living in a different, darker, secular... age... Jimis music always had such an upbeat.. positive feeling.. even like the positive message of this song... unfortunately... the reality is we are living in dark times... this aint the 80s... you can just feel it.. I was really saddened by Jimis death... mainly cuz I knew him.. met him years ago in the early 80s.. I was right out of high school and hanging around the Memphis club scene.. and an underground recording studio... I used to take photos of the bands.. and sell them back to them.. using 35 mm... and FILM.. no digital back then but I was just a kid.. 18 or 19.. right out of school. hanging around the clubs and the bands.. I would volunteer to help move the amps and junk.. and in return I got into the clubs for free.. then sold myself as a photographer... haha.. had a big pro looking 35 mm camera.. so I would take lots of pics.. sell the good ones back to the bands.. or get those glossy black and white band shots they used to do then.. that led to making album covers. and getting the paper inserts, the cardboard covers for the vinyl records done.. (hey someone actually did that boring part.. haha) I have a lot of memories... I think Jimi was trying to recapture that 80s magic in this video.... I have been lost in my memories of the Memphis clubs in the 80s.. taking these vitamins that boost my memory I guess that helps.. oh well.. I am just sad.. https://youtube/watch?v=Mo3cp3NaIf0
