TO ALL PSA MEMBERS, This is to let you know that the meeting of the Parliamentry Sub-committee yesterday agreed to another 6% COLA for this financial year 2014/2015. This is the Sub-committee Parliament approved in June 24th after we submitted our petition in our concerns over the refusal by Govt to talk with us regarding our proposal on the COLA. The review of the salaries commissioned by the PSC last December recommended a 20% and the review of the Ministry of Finance was 23%. We then proposed a 22% (the round up average of the findings of the PSC & Finance). Cabinet approved a 5% COLA last December which was granted in Feb 14 in the last financial year 2013/2014. So now we will receive an 11% COLA. The Sub-committee agreed to form an independent body (adhoc) to review the COLA again to be considered by the new Govt in the next financial year. We are all thankful that we did not have to call a strike action. Although there are court cases as a result of our efforts to review your salaries but it must have been meant to be that way to improve the service of Govt to the People. In solidarity,
