TO EACH OF YOU ON THANKSGIVING, I wanted to take a moment to personally thank each of you for all you did for my campaign over the past 15 months. I would not have won without you, your prayers, your volunteer work, your contributions, your encouragement, and spreading the word to all of your friends to support me for Lt Governor. God guided, provided, and protected me and my family throughout the entire campaign. I am so thankful for so much. I am one of the most blessed people you will ever meet. Life hasnt always been easy, it isnt for any of us. We all go through times of triumph and defeat in life. But through faith, family and friends, nothing is impossible to overcome or achieve for anyone who keeps their eye on God and are patient to listen to His plan for their life. I know I wont be perfect, but I will do my utmost not to let God or you down. We live in the greatest state in the greatest country in the history of the world. God has blessed our Texas and our nation greatly. Our country has been through tough times and dark days before, and we have always come back stronger despite those who said our best days were behind us. It is the spirit within us to serve God and our fellow man, for Liberty, for freedom, and our belief that our Founders were right when they said We are all created equal, endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That is what separates us from every other nation ever created in the history of the world. In my role as the 42nd Lt Governor of Texas, I will serve to bring Glory to God and serve man. If I serve God first I cannot but help serve man. My friend, Rep Scott Sanford sent out this verse today which is very appropriate: Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For God, Texas, and America, Jan and I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving from our family to you and yours.
