TO: Eligible Students FROM: Jeanne Locklear DATE: September 21, 2013 SUBJECT: Peter Schutz Essay Contest and Rules (SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCT 2, 2013) Locklear & Associates is proud to announce an Essay Contest for all Steelville School District and Steelville Home School students in grades 7 – 12. INFORMATION: Peter W. Schutz is the former Chief Executive Officer of Porsche AG. Mr. Schutz is the author of the book, The Driving Force: Extraordinary Results with Ordinary People and will be presenting on this topic in Steelville, Missouri on October 11, 2013 at Meramec Music Theatre. ASSIGNMENT TOPIC: Who is Peter W. Schutz? What were his challenges as the CEO of Porsche AG? If you had an opportunity to meet him, what 5 questions would you want to know the answer to? RULES: Students in grades 7 – 12. One entry per student. Pages must be typed, double-spaced and stapled. No minimum number of pages, however the maximum is 5 pages. DEADLINE: All essays must be submitted by the end of the school day on October 2. Winning entries will be announced the following week. INSTRUCTIONS: On the first page, clearly label: student’s name, grade and date of submission. SUBMIT TO: Ms. Jennifer Whitson prior to the end of the school day on October 2. PRIZES: Up to 5 students from each grade level will be selected to attend the 9 AM – Noon, October 11, 2013 Peter W. Schutz presentation: The Driving Force: Extraordinary Results with Ordinary People at no cost (normal registration fee is $199.). Each student will be able to meet Mr. Schutz. JUDGES: Submissions will be judged by a minimum of four experienced professionals with predetermined scoring criteria covering: Organization; Focus; Content; Vocabulary; Grammar; Spelling; Neatness and adherence to rules.
