TO MY TRAVELING FRIENDS: Lets keep peace in the air ... The approval of cell phone use on flights has consequences to others, e.g., smoking on flights was not about individual rights but to protect the collective. Please weigh in below if you agree! From Tracy Thirion via Karen Meyer ... below is the message she she wrote followed by the email addresses of the FCC commissioners. Dear Commissioner Rosenworcel, I am writing to plea your assistance to represent those of us who are not connected to the rich telecommunications lobbyists and corporations who value money over peace for our citizens. It was fine to allow wifi on flights, as it is not intrusive to others, and it allows us to be much more productive. However, to allow cell phone calls on flights will hold us hostage to others conversations with no way to escape, for hours. I travel weekly for business, and it is my protected bubble to reset, to work, to think, and sometimes to rest. The very thought of cell phones being allowed on flights makes me anxious to travel when I now see my flight time as MY time back from my crazy day. PLEASE know that corporate expense accounts will prevail and there will be no limit to peoples calls if this gets approved, and the lobbyists pushing this forward know that. I BEG you to consider those of us in business working hard to make a living who need this airspace so to speak, to be protected. You can send a message to the Chairman of the FCC who will be voting on this on Dec 12 along with those listed below! It doesnt take long to send these 5 emails-- please pass along the info to all of your friends who travel: fcc.gov/leadership/tom-wheeler-mail fcc.gov/leadership/mignon-clyburn-mail fcc.gov/leadership/ajit-pai-mail fcc.gov/leadership/michael-orielly-mail ttp://fcc.gov/leadership/jessica-rosenworcel-mail
