TO: Orkun K. Aydin FR: Emery Nicoletti RE: Poor Room Conditions Wow, is all we have to say when entering this hotel. I noticed the letters on the desk while we were checking in . I guess its a kind of way to inform your guests before they enter their rooms that things are in the remodeling process. This is NOT when you want to tell them that their rooms are going to be in the style of an old college dorm; especially when its too late to make reservations anywhere else. Im certain that youre not discounting rooms during coventions. As I sit in this room I can see all the greasy fingerprints all over the door. The light that comes through the window really showcases this. It looks like the back door that leads to the smoking area from the greasy kitchen of an unkept restaurant. When you take the time to spot paint a hotel room, take two things into consideration, if you have to spot paint as much as you did in this room, you can either paint the WHOLE room since you can tell it needed it; or pick the matching color so it doesnt look like cheap patch work. My room partner will be going in and out all day but I am stuck here working for three days. I CANT believe that this is a Westin! THIS IS A WESTIN? REALLY? I wish we had known what this place looked like in advance. How can this be a Westin? The Westin in Tucson is absolutely beautiful. When I got off the elevator on the 10th floor, the first thing you see is a wall table against the wall under the mirror with wires hanging all over the place and no attempt to hide them, just a tacky tangled mess of wires to greet you. Stained walls greet you on the way down the corridor to your room. Were supposed to meet friends that live in St. Petersburg here at the hotel. I will make sure we meet them in the lobby so they dont see the condition of the hotel. I am embarrassed for you. I cant believe Im in a position where I am embarrassed for the company that is extending customer service to us. This is what should have happened: When making reservations, we should have been informed that your hotel was undergoing renovations or was in much need of them, perhaps a discount could have been offered to make the stay seem acceptable You DO NOT put letters out AFTER guests have made a reservation for an otherwise booked convention. How dare you. Shame on you! We travel over half of our work schedule, staying at a greasy, unkept, outdated, hotels at regular price is unacceptable. A clean, well maintained budget hotel is much more acceptable than this outdated, worn, dirty room. Let me remind you that you are in the customer service business. The hotel industry is one of the leading customer service businesses in existence. This is totally unacceptable. I cant believe that before I have unpacked, I forced myself to write a letter. I rarely complain, and I never write letters. Who has the time? Today, this instant, I had to. I see that you put your email address at the bottom of your Greetings letter. Im sure that this letter of disapproval is one in a string of many. Im sure the topic of conversation tonight over our business dinners will be the horrible conditions of this hotel.
