TO RELAX YOUR GUARD IS TO BE VULNERABLE “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” 1 Peter 5:8. Satan never gives notice of his attack. All he does is to move around silently, watching out for your unguarded moment. The devil may strike in the morning, afternoon or evening. He may strike when you are still struggling with life. He may strike when you are at the peak of your success. It could be anytime! But it is sure when you are off-guard, hence the instruction in 1 Peter 5:8. Various bomb explosions that have occurred especially at major events, both within and outside this country happened at the moment when security forces were temporarily off guard. People behind these evil normally target the time when security is relaxed. Who could have thought that there would be bomb-explosions despite the efforts of U.S security agencies and FBI at combing the venue of the marathon race that took place in Boston. Unfortunately, a boy was killed via the explosion after hugging his dad who finished the race! Perhaps it was while people were carried away by the euphoria of the event! This was how sorrow and agony replaced joy and sounds of congratulations that suppose to climax the event. According to the scriptures, it was while men ‘slept’ that the enemies came and sowed tears. You are under evil spiritual surveillance. You are being closely monitored by satanic spiritual gadgets almost every minute. Satanic bombs are flying everywhere and can hit anybody! As you run this race of life, on no account, and in no circumstance must you be careless and reckless in words, thoughts or actions. Hear Charlotte Elliot (1789-1871) in his song: ‘thou are in the midst of foes; ‘watch and pray’. Watch in the day or night, at your business centre, at your office, at your home, school and even in church. Watch everywhere for the satanic bombs of your enemies who are ceaselessly waiting for your unguarded hours. You will end this first quarter of the year well in Jesus name. Enemies’ arrow will not bit you. Be on your guard. Shalom
