TO:SASCO AND GOVERNMENT. COMPLETION GRANT FORGRADUATESA SOLUTION TO YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT: BY MJ WA AZANIA The mind of a black person will never be free untilEconomic Freedomforms part of his/her life In a developing country like South Africa,i was not expecting our government to be spending R120 per day in a meal of one student, not neccesarily saying in a developing country we cannot live like kings and queens but knowing where we come from and where we are going,R50 is much enough to be spent in one day than R120. We are currently experiencing Youth-unemployment crisis, which our government has run out of ideas and solutions on how to fight it,we speak of 36% youth unemployment rate of which 33.2% is a community of graduates but still we have R120 being spent in one student. The reality of introducing Completion grant should not be avoided,it must remain the first document to be debated by SASCO NEC and our parliament leaders. I am not trying to reject free education march but i propose that the 2014 SASCO Free Education march be rested for this year and we try an alternative that will assist in developing the life of a graduate and help to reduce Youth unemployment crisis. Young people must be taught to create employment opportunities not to be employees of manipulators and capitalists who access government funds and employ them for 6 month then reject them without a way foward. Young people must be given Completion grant so they will know how to start a business, how to buy shares, how to start a company and gain confidence of being independent. Our education system is not telling us how should a young person become a boss but it tell us the process of improving a product of KPMG,Telkom and Farm owned by Mr who who. We should as young people not run away from reality,i agree and understand that SASCO NEC leaders are not ready to accept reality but Free Education by the look of things is not an achieveable battle,we are just wasting our thoughts. Our government leaders from President Jacob Zuma and Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa stated exactly that young people should start playing a role in eradicating poverty and unemployment and this will be done by establishing more entrepreneurs. Then how does one become an entrepreneur if there is no Completion Grant?Completion grant will pave a way towards starting small business,it must come with conditions and inspection. In Limpopo the youth unemployment rate is 28% which triple the percents of our Parents, reason is that our parents are all runing small businesses funded by their spouse and as young people who will fund us because both Girlfriend and Boyfriend are not working,? Our government seem to be focusing on short-term pleasure and avoid the bigger picture of our challenges. Giving a young person R120 a day and say its for meal is an insult to such a country like South Africa; You are not showing young people love but giving them a taste of Jerusalem city and leave them half-way without a direction to reach there, hence they turn to fuel criminality. We are being told that obbesity rate in the community of young people is too high in South Africa but all young people are unemployment. If our government trust its educational system,i dont think it can have a problem to give its products a Completion grants to go and start businesses. We cannot always appear before Media and collect trophies as best students yet we strugle to get employment after we have completed. This Completion grant can also assist to meet NSFAS half way because young people will have something to repay NSFAS and also assist fellow young people. Economic Freedom in our life-time will not come through back-door but as young leaders we must irritate our government through informed debates and documents to champion this matter. In February,SASCO leaders went to all South Africa Radio Stations and TV Channels speaking about NSFAS crisis but even today the situation is the same,we will never win this battle by seeking media limelight,we are playing with peoples emotions. You will never broadcast a revolution because by the time you come out of Media house, they are done with you. Completion grant is a solution towards youth-unemployment and poverty, young people must be empowered economical. Economic Freedom in our lifetime. MJ ANCYL Member.
