TO SPEAK OR NOT TO SPEAK God tells us in Ecclesiastes 3 verses 1 & 7 To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under Heaven...a time to keep silence and a time to speak. The child of God has been given the great gift of the treasure of the Word of God. The Bible is unto us the joy and rejoicing of our heart. We search the Bible as one would search for hid riches. We follow the Bibles method of comparing this verse with that verse. We pray that God would be pleased to enlighten the eyes of our understanding to show us great and wonderful things from His Word. And finally we wait upon God, knowing we are in the time when God is revealing many truths from the Bible. As we learn these truths our desire is to talk about these truths with one another and with our neighbor. But the Bible gives us a very important guideline for speaking truth, it must be done in love. If words become unkind and not gentle but rather contentious and provoking we should refrain our speech and become silent. God does not give all His people the same measure of understanding nor the same measure of sanctification. Let us recall the Words of Ephesians 4 verses 1 & 2 that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love. And may God be only and always magnified.
