TODAY IS TAM BAYOH. ...... The arrest and detention of famous journalist David Tam-Bayoh should not be treated lightly. That act is a complete violation of human rights which must be treated with all seriousness. The constitution of sierra Leone Act no. 6 of 1991 makes it clear that an accuse is presumed innocent untill proven guilty by a competent court of law. No matter the crime Tam may have committed, he should be presume innocent till a court prove him otherwise. The arrest and unlawful detention of Tam Bayoh allegedly on the orders of the president has germinate many conspiracy theories: One theory is of the view that the arrest of the monologue many was as a result of the last monologue program in which the Vice President was the host. It must be remembered that the president had earlier ordered SLBC not to grant any interview to his vice. I may not know why such orders where given. what I know is that the first gentleman was not happy when he had the second niceman on monologue. Hence ordered the arrest of the anchor. Another theory is that Tam-Bayoh has been exposing the corrupt ways in which the government is handling Ebola fund meant to tackle the deadly virus. The world best is also no happy with that and so he ordered the arrest of the mouthpiece of the people with allegations the he had violate the health emergency. The sudden arrest of David Tam Bayoh should not be seen political but should be seen above politics. this is a national concern. All of us Sierra leoneans must call on the government to release Tam, -Bayoh or follow the legal procedure in dealing with the matter. David Tam Bayoh has suffered alot for this country, so it is time for us to pay back. This is pay back time!! During the ten years rebel war, while most of us where running/hiding for our lives, this young man stood in the mist of live bullets to report the correct story. it was some of those stories that stimulated the intervention of the internatinal world. This young man has been the primary source of information. did you listen to monologue? people would always ask. Fellow Sierra Leoneans, please come together and please with the government to seen reasons and release our mouthpiece, the voice of the voiceless and the good governance man Few David Tam Bayoh. Let us unite in begging the Prezo for Today is Tam Bayoh, tomorrow might be you.
