TODAYS FRESH BREAD (EXAMINE YOURSELF) 1 Corinthians 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. So many people do not go to church on the days their church is to have communion. That is very sad. Why would a person who has accepted Christ skip church just because it is time to dine with the Lord Jesus Christ. Communion was instituted by Christ not just to bring unity among members of the church, but for a whole lot of benefits. The above scripture has been used to scare people from eating the body and drinking the blood of the Lord. We are often told that, if you have sinned some kind of sins and you eat, you are eating judgment upon yourself. Therefore the Bible says examine yourself before you eat. Beloved, theres no place in the Bible that says sin should prevent a person from eating the bread and drinking the wine. If sin should stop someone from eating, then not even the pastor qualifies to eat. Or maybe the church values some sins over others. But before God, every sin is equally considered. Did you know that, Judas Iscariot ate the first communion from the hands of Christ? Examining yourself has nothing to do with sin. In fact, 1Corinthians 11:17-34 never mentions sin for once. Contextually, examining yourself is related to how you understand the body and blood you are eating. For this reason, Jesus said, DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME. You are to remember Christ and His perfectly finished work on the cross and not your sins. If you feel that you have sinned, you are most welcome to communion. It is one antidote to a sinful life. Jesus said, He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him (John 6:56). You cannot manifest what is not in you. Jesus never stopped Judas from eating because of his sin. He will never stop you from eating because of sin. The more you eat the body and drink the blood of Christ, the more you are able to manifest His nature. Communion is not to judge you. Rather it is to give you life...... Good morning
