TODAYS LOCAL PROGRAM We wet to the program at a nearby community clubhouse with a couple of devotees today. They had one devotee come all the way from India to speak.. He is traveling around the USA for his programs.. He was very expert in his speaking. He told us his story that over 20 years ago he decided to change his field of occupation. He was a Doctor and now he is a doctor of the soul. He said he just changed his specialty..Very funny! But true. Imagine so many years in college, was already a practicing Doctor, then after finding Srila Prabhupadas books changed his career. Now a full time preacher to the souls. He gave a very wonderful presentation regarding controlling the mind using a slide show and very expertly using Srila Prabhupadas teachings .. very simple basic stuff for most of us who have Read Srila Prabhupadas books.. but so profound for a beginner or one who has not head about the matters of soul or the self....He spoke very universally and also very scientifically.. Which was great for the kind of audience we had.. One devotee invited one of her nurse coworkers..She was the only other westerner besides myself at the program.. after the lecture we sat at her table for prasad.. she was very enlivened by the program and we told her we have programs at our house time to time and she said she would be interested.. Jaya! They asked me to lead the kirtan.. oh Govinda.. my voice does not carry that far, but by His mercy I managed with kartal and another mataji played drum. We also had a book table and distributed many Bhagavad Gita As It Is Original 1972 by Srila Prabhupada and other books and gave the donations to the devotees hosting the program. Very successful program I feel.. Jaya Srila Prabhupada! Hare Krishna!
