TODAY’S FRESH BREAD Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? We had a great journey through the fifth chapter of the book of Romans. This sixth chapter begins with a question. It signifies that the writer was talking about something previously and people were trying to raise objections and therefore He used this chapter to answer the objection riased. It will be wiser to interpret this chapter in the context of the previous chapters. Many people who object to the Grace message always pull out this question. They will asked, ‘even Paul said, shall we sin so that Grace may abound?’ This question is mostly asked because people know that Grace Preachers do not condemn sin. Paul had preached grace radically to the extent that his critics felt he was encouraging sin and that was the question they asked. That is how grace always looks from the outside. But when grace is embraced, it is the power of God unto salvation. When Grace is embraced, it is the freedom from sin. People will continue to raise objection to the radical grace of God till they embrace it themselves. Then they will know that freedom from sin is found in the embrace of Grace. Romans 5:20 says, ‘where sin abounded, grace did much more abound’. Paul was not saying that sin is a catalyst to Grace, such that the increase of sin should brings the increase of Grace. What he is saying here is that, there is abundance of Grace in Jesus Christ that is far more than the sins of the whole world put together. Jesus demonstrated this by resurrecting from the dead. Sin doesn’t cause Grace to increase. Jesus is greater than sin. Grace is greater than sin. Sin cannot undo what the Grace of God has done. Whether there is sin or not, the Grace of God is always in abundance. The same amount of Grace found at where there is less sin is the same amount found at where there is more sin. Your sin will not cause Grace to increase, neither will your sin make God’s Grace ineffective. But no matter your sin, Grace is always in abundance for you. When you find yourself in His Grace, your sin is no more imputed unto you because you are not under the Law. Grace came to free you from sin, guilt and condemnation. His Grace is enough…. Good Morning.
