TODAY’S WORD: 25th September, 2013 II Chronicle 20:3-4 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. In life it is a normal thing for a person to be afraid; we all are from time to time. The question is not whether you are afraid or not but what you do when fear comes. Where do you go when fear comes knocking and who do you call or rely on at such moments? In II Chronicles 20:1-2, Jehoshaphat king of Judah was told that 3 very mighty nations were preparing and partnering to fight against his small nation, to him it was very devastating news, it meant destruction cometh. This sent great fear down his spine but the fear only succeeded in pushing him where he could get real help and that place was in GOD. When fear comes, turn it over to God who is able to turn things around for you. When you seek God at such times, He shows up to fight your battles. Moses told the children of Israel when they found themselves at the red sea with the Egyptian army coming behind them not to be afraid, …Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever (Exodus 14:13). II Timothy 1:7; For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. You can turn your fear to victory if only you will take it to the Lord in prayer just like Jehoshaphat did. Pray with me: Father, replace every fear in me with great faith in Jesus name.
