Its been amazing since we changed the Wednesday night format. Week after week our LNO family grows as listeners get to see and hear these cats get on stage burn it down .. Amazing ! This week we welcome back the incomparable Dana Gaynor... Last time Dana was our guest guitarist at the LNO Open Sessions at Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse we tore the walls down .. Since then theyve been rebuilt. We have other plans for this evening. Maybe a ritual stage burning .. Either way, dont miss tonights show. Its sure to be another keeper. Our resident house band these days goes like this. Wayne Lyle from local club packers High In The Mid 80s. Jim Hart who has been pounding the stages with bands like Milan & the Sour Goat and Garden State Line.. And myself on keys (Ive done my time around the block as a Mercenary Keyboardist) Weve had Bernard Purdie, Kenny Aaronson, Johnny Rao, Frankie Previt, Tommy Morrongiello, Joe Cerisano, Nasty Ned, Dennis Grueling, Big Nancy, and a host of other greats on our Wednesday night stage. We ARE the proverbial box of chocolates. We never know who will walk in and we dont want to know whats going to happen on stage .. Its always fun to watch. Roxy and Dukes is Thee hip place to be these days. Its New Wave. Its Rock-a-Billy. Its Punk. Its Heavy Metal. Its Rock n Roll. Its Country, Swing and Funk .. On Wednesdays though .. Blues and Progressive Blues with a rockn twist just for flavor takes over. Come on in and take a seat at any one of our retro style tables. Buy a cocktail or order something from the menu (kitchen is open till 11pm) .. Youll be welcomed with open arms. Our Wednesday night sweetheart behind the bar is Dee and shell take care of your beverage needs. Most times with a smile .. ... We love our Roxy and Dukes family. Music supporters top to bottom. We start at 8pm with acoustic players. At 9pm we go all electric. We do not do full bands unless previously arranged with the host .. This week the band we are welcoming back includes Chuck Wegman, formerly with The Congregation and currently working with a new project. Chuck will go on at 9pm sharp for a 20 minute set .. Dana Gaynor is an American lead/slide guitarist, well known among the best musicians on both coasts, her work is respected internationally. Dana has been a member of The Amazing Bluesmatics, The Blues Riders, Vizion, Killer in the Backseat, Explosive Joseph and a founding member the Boulevard Blues Band for seven years (the house band at JJ’s Blues Club, the biggest blues club in the S.F. Bay area at the time). She has appeared on the same bill with The Allman Brothers, Average White Band, Norton Buffalo, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John, Roy Rogers, Vassar Clements, Link Wray, Bad Finger, The Dinosaurs, Terry and the Pirates, and many, many others. Her exciting guitar work and irresistible smile make her an instantly accessible performer who is truly a joy to behold.
