TONIGHT IN THE TEA ROOM Saturday, May 24 – Dr. Mike & the Sea Monkeys Dr. Mike and the Sea Monkeys are a folk and acoustic blues trio consisting of Mike Ball, Scott Clauser, and noted advice columnist Dr. Mike. Since Dr. Mike is a fictional character, he never really shows up for rehearsals or gigs, which means that they are actually a two-man trio – which makes them really energy efficient, and always a really good time! You never know just who might show up as an honorary Sea Monkey. Past performers holding that honorary status have included Peter “Madcat” Ruth, Josh White, Jr., Kitty Donohoe, Annie Capps, and a host of others. Or it might just be a “trio” night – which is equally enjoyable! Most of the Sea Monkey music is original, based on the nationally-syndicated column What Ive Learned So Far... , as well as the books What Ive Learned So Far... Part I: Bikes, Docks & Slush Nuggets and What Ive Learned So Far... Part II: Angels, Chimps and Tater Mitts, by Erma Bombeck award-winning humorist Mike Ball. The Sea Monkeys are also deeply involved with Lost Voices, a group that develops and implements songwriting and performing workshops for incarcerated and at-risk kids.
