TONY OBUH FOR GOVERNOR AND URHOBO QUEST TO PRODUCE GOVENOR IN 2015: MATTERS ARISING. Delta State is like a “Democratic Kingdom” which has three ruling houses, one to produce the king each time the stool is vacant. Normally, each ruling house will have to produce the next king on a turn-by-turn basis and rotationally. It will not be possible for one ruling house to produce the king several times more than the rest. This can only happen where one of the ruling houses lack a “male child” to take its turn. Again, it is impossible to say that since one of the ruling houses has more prominent sons and daughters “so to speak”, therefore it should not be allowed to produce the “King” once it is their turn to do so. To prevent a particular ruling house from taking its turn in producing the “King” will be repugnant to “Natural Justice, Equity and Good Conscience” and where Common Law is in conflict with Equity – it is the Law that “equity” must prevail. In the instant case, Equity must prevail over Uvbiamuge Declaration which seeks to produce an “Urhobo Governor in 2015” at all cost. This shouldn’t be. The several juicy political positions occupied by sons and daughters of Delta North occupy in government today is as a result of their “Push in Government” and taking their people along to the top in the scheme of things. Urhobos should learn to put their people in high government positions anytime they have the opportunity to do so. This is the style of Delta North. That is why their people are in government at the top. Urhobo should not be jealous of their achievements in power politics rather we should emulate the people of Delta North to uplift our people politically anytime we are in government. Some of our political leaders in Urhobo Nation do not want others to grow politically hence they do not take them along to the top. We need a paradigm shift from politics of “self” to politics of “collective progress”. It is only this change of heart that can cure the political backwardness of Urhobo Nation in terms of super political appointments and advancing the political greatness of our people. Faith Majemite belong to the breed of “collective progress” which is why the good people of Ethiope East are pushing for greater political power for her so that the backwardness of the communities in that part of the state can be addressed. Political leaders should put their people in positions of political relevance to garner progress for their constituencies and senatorial districts. Delta North is excelling in this aspect and to jealous them is to the absolutely unfair to them. Therefore, it will be most ideal to let Delta North take their turn to produce the next Governor of the State. The three ruling houses in Delta State are: Delta Central, Delta South and Delta North. Central has produced two Governors (Chief Felix Ibru and Chief Ibori – our great valid and unstoppable leader). Incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan is from Delta South and almost completing his 2nd term. As it is today, Delta North must produce the next PDP Governor based on the principles of equity and Tony Obuh has been chosen to mount the saddle. It is clear and proper. The implication of Obuh’s choice is that the rest aspirants from Delta North must necessarily be more united than ever to give support to their own brother – TONY OBUH to enable him achieve sweet victory at the polls come 2015. Tony Uboh is a super brand. Tested and trusted by our political leaders and the good people of Delta North. He is highly detribalized and will ensure equity in power sharing in terms of political appointments and overall development of Delta State. Delta United for Tony Obuh conveyed by Chief Ayiri Emami is making serious progress. Emami is the arrowhead of the Tony Obuh project in accordance with the political arrangement of party elders and leaders in Delta State. It is a done deal and all hands must be on deck to actualize this noble project. All PDP aspirants should now look towards the direction of Tony Obuh and come to a round table discussion on how to implement the political equation for the socio-economic development of the state and for the prosperity of all Deltans. I so submit. Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Political Communication & Media Unit Delta United - Tony Obuh for Governor Secretariat. Asaba, Delta State.
