LORDE - New Zealand teenager Lorde performed her song, ‘Yellow Flicker Beat.’ The track is featured on the ‘The Hunger Games – Mockingjay – Part One’ soundtrack. So, why was it a memorable performance?! Here’s my take: First, Lorde began her performance from inside an enormous blue, then yellow, then red colored box, concealing herself from the audience. Next, after emerging from her hiding place, Lorde began bopping around the stage while a group of folks dressed all in white (at first glance I thought they were dancers) stood solemnly on stage, never stirring. Finally, Lorde’s reported BFF Taylor Swift could be seen doing some bopping of her own, as she danced and sang-along to Lorde’s popular ditty. 1. FERGIE - American crooner Fergie, the only female member of the hip hop band, ‘The Black Eyed Peas’ performed solo at this year’s AMAs. She was there in support of her new single ‘L.A. Love.’ Fergie hasn’t appeared on the AMA stage in a while, but after being introduced by her Transformer-star husband, Josh Duhamel, the new mom showed she’s still got it. Fergie’s performance went off almost without a hitch. That is until she tried to suavely remove her jacket, and it became briefly lodged in her behind. However, the stage veteran quickly freed herself from the clinging garment, and carried on with the show. This minor wardrobe malfunction certainly cant compare to Nicki Minaj’s recent gaffe at the 2014 MTV VMAs. 2. FERGIE(菲姬) – 美國低音歌手菲姬，黑眼豆豆 這個嘻哈團體裡唯一的女性成員，今年在AMAs的盛會上獨自演出。她是為了她的新單曲 ‘L.A. The moment wasn’t lost on the young Swift, who said this about the trailblazing Ross during her speech: ‘Im just so blown away to have just received an award from Diana Ross, who over the course of her career stood up for herself so many times in a time when it was not popular for a woman to stand up for herself. Im so honored.’ Swift also touched on her recent decision to remove her music catalog from the music streaming service Spotify. Swift said; ‘Music is valuable…albums should be consumed as art and appreciated.’ 3. Gomez, who typically delivers elaborate dance numbers, dialed back her often high octane stage show to share with the audience a more emotional performance. The song’s lyrics speak of an uncertain future and a ‘million reasons’ why she should give up on a certain someone. Gomez’s well-documented on-again, off-again relationship with Canadian singer Justin Bieber, may in fact be the inspiration for her sentimental ballad. On her Instagram account, Gomez wrote: ‘More than anything, Im just excited that people everywhere that are feeling what I feel and feel that, will get to see that.’ 4. The 45-year-old songstress gave a performance for the ages, as she belted out her single, ‘Booty.’ Lopez performed alongside Australian Iggy Azalea, who earlier took home the awards for ‘Favorite rap/hip hop Artist and Album. Azalea, who has been known to turn heads with her revealing stage attire, admitted on Twitter that she could not hold a candle to the ageless Lopez, stating: ‘and of course @jlo made me look like a pile of dog poo standing next to her because she’s so perfect. seriously tho, i love her. babeville.’ It would be easy to argue that Lopez’s dance moves and very evident fitness was the ultimate mic drop! 5.
