TOP FOODS FOR BURNING FAT!! Ive got a few comments, messages and emails about the foods that I eat. A lot of people understand that some of these foods are healthy and good for you but check out the reasons why.. The all pack a fat burning punch that can support you in losing weight, getting leaner and feeling better about yourself. PORRIDGE: Aside from being easy to cook, porridge a great fat burner because it is rich in insoluble and soluble fiber; it also has a low GI (the speed at which blood sugar rises after eating) so it stablises blood sugar levels (so you dont get a insulin/sugar spike). Read the label on those pre-measured packets though, most of them have lots of sugar. HOW I USE IT: I have a bowl every morning with a 25g of protein powder and blueberries. CHICKEN: Your body burns more calories trying to process and break down protein than any other food type (carbohydrates or fats); this goes for any high protein, low fat food; chicken being my favorite. HOW I USE IT: I have chicken with sweet potato and vegetables as a post workout meal or with wholegrain rice as a perfect pre-workout meal (two hours before I train). ASPARAGUS: Asparagus contains the plant chemical asparagine, an alkaloid that directly affects cells and breaks down fat. It also contains a chemical that helps remove waste from the body, which in turn helps reduce fat. Its also a natural diuretic, so it helps get water out from underneath your skin and muscle (making you look leaner; perfect photo-shoot/night out/wedding tip) HOW I USE IT: with my post workout meal and with most of my meals on a low carb day. ALMONDS: Loaded with Omega-3 fats, Almonds have been proven to increase fat-burning properties in the body. They are really calorie dense, so a handful or two are the perfect amount to maximize fat burning and help stabilise blood sugar levels. HOW I USE IT: I eat them by the handful as a snack throughout the day. APPLES: Apples are a great fat-burning fruit, in part because they are high in fiber. Moreover, the pectin in apples restricts fat absorption and encourages water absorption in your bodys cells. HOW I USE IT: I may have an apple with chicken or a protein shake as my pre-workout meal if I’m in a rush or I’m travelling. I also use them as a snack throughout the day (with a protein shake, almonds or chicken).
