TOP OF UTAH MOURNS LOSS OF BOX ELDER SHERIFF As you know Box Elder County Sheriff Lynn Yeates passed away this morning. We offer our condolences and heart felt sorrow to his family who recently experienced the passing of Lynn’s wife Lynda. We will take solace in knowing that he and his lovely wife are again together and remember Sheriff Yeates as a friendly, easy-going, happy, enjoyable mentor and leader. I have worked with Lynn on several projects and have always enjoyed his camaraderie and friendship. He was well respected and admired by Utah Sheriffs and an active participant in the Utah Sheriff’s Association organization. He was recently honored as the Utah Sheriff’s Association Lawman of the Year. Lieutenant Lane Findlay will be working with Box Elder County commanders in assisting with Sheriff Yeates funeral arrangements and/or coverage of calls for service and any other needs that Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office may have as they prepare to mourn the loss of a great leader. Flags at the Weber County Sheriff’s Complex will be lowered to half-mast and black mourning bands are authorized until services are rendered.
