TOPIC: GET INSTRUCTED, GET DIRECTED (2) TEXT: 2Sam. 2:18-23 I will listen to what the God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints but let them not return to folly Ps. 85:8. Your talent, agility, strength, eloquence, skill and anointing will not take the place of instruction and direction if good success is to be achieved. The generation we are in is a do and do generation. It is a generation where everyone wants to be heard even when the heart is empty, a generation filled with activities, motions and no movement. Of what purpose is passion that doesnt align with God-given mission. There is a need to listen and identify what the will of God is. The man, Asahel as seen in the textual source was gifted, he was as fleet of foot as a wild gazelle I.e. he could run very fast. But, it was his gift that killed him because he lacked instruction. In line with popular teachings/motivational talks, Asahel identified his talents, he identified an enemy (Abner) but has did not to learn how his talent should match his purpose, he needed more than the talent could offer him, he took to discretion. In the aftermath, both Asahel and his talent became a waste, that will not be your portion in Jesus name. It may look as if Gods instruction will delay but it wont be late, it may look as if others are leaving you behind, but remember that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, walk and not weary, run and faint not. Remember, Gods voice may delay, it wont be late, and when He speaks, He will speak peace. Your life and endowments will not be a waste like Asahels in Jesus name. Have a great day ahead.
