TOUCHDOWN CLUB Meeting June 4, 2013 Head coach update – as of meeting time the new head coach has not been named. 6 candidates were interviewed. We expect to have word in the next couple of days. Once he has been named, discussion was to have a cookout for parents to meet the new coach. Use this as a way meet with parents to become members of club. Treas report. Balance in the bank is $3970.25. Lift a thon raised $529.00, this was down drastically from last year. This money last year was used for team camps. Discussion to possibly do a Chick-Fil-A fund raiser night. Hilde will contact Chic-Fil-A for open dates. 2013-2014 Budget Presented – discussion points follow. Budget was approved. Player clothing for Jr. High players were offered to purchase their shirt at the end of the year. We have not received any money for player shirts. We should only have to purchase additional shirts if more players this year than last year. Discussion on the possibility of selling cowbells for a fund raiser. Senior programs – last year’s programs went over great! Many parents gave positive feedback. This should be continued again this year. This year players will only be fed once per week. The Jr High will be fed on Thursdays and Sr High on Fridays. Chair back prices should possibly be increased. After discussion the following prices per chair were agreed on: $25 for Jr. or Sr. night $40 for both Jr. and Sr. nights Field Signs are our largest source of net income. We need volunteers to contact the businesses who are up for renewal should have 8 signs that will renew. There are still scoreboard signs available. Other fence signs are available also. Allen will work with any volunteer and provide copies of contracts. We will post it on facebook need volunteers for sign sales. Helmet is on the end of its life expectancy. Need to start earmarking money for helmet. Create a fund possibly find a large donation to pay total expense with logo on it. Estimated cost of replacement is $7,000 to $10,000. Helmet will be taken on the road this year. Will set up helmet soon to make sure it is ready for this season. Football program – we have several pictures so far. We need to sell ads now. Make available to all parents to buy ads. Put together a program committee. Tammy will head up. This year we will possibly put together on a small scale and increase with each year. Coach Alford has requested to club pay for an upcoming football camp. This camp will be June 13th fee for team is $120 and meals $5 per child. This is the last camp before dead period. This would exhaust our funds for camps that have been budgeted. Tammy made motion to fund this camp, Seconded by Dana. All in favor. Meeting adjourned.
