TRAFFIC ALERT: A sinkhole was discovered this morning at the intersection of Bender and Michigan streets on the north side of Elkhart. Michigan is closed from Bristol to Edwardsburg Ave. – and that closure is expected to last a week or more. Map: bit.ly/UaRU94 The sinkhole, which is about four feet deep, is right next to an old manhole. Workers told our reporter at the scene they think it created a weak spot that has grown under the street over the years.
