Friday 20th September Dublin PARK (ing) Day will take place from 12pm to 6pm at almost 30 locations around the city, from Arbour Hill to Raheny and through the city centre. See below for more info ↓↓↓↓↓ Friday 20th September Dublin PARK (ing) Day will take place from 12pm to 6pm at almost 30 locations around the city, from Arbour Hill to Raheny and through the city centre. Park (ing) Day is an annual worldwide, opensource experiment in reclaiming public space. The event has become a global phenomenon since it started in San Francisco just a few years ago, with over 180 cities now taking part. For a single day, on-street metered car parking spaces around the city will be suspended and transformed into imaginative public spaces instead. Artists, designers, urban, environmental and public health activists will create unique installations around the city that will each make its own statement in favor of more people-friendly streets. 2013 is Dublin’s third PARK(ing) Day which is about creating awareness of sustainable travel and the need for better streets and public spaces. Consistently the cities with the most livable streets are rated as the best cities to live and do business in.
