Hi everyone, my name is Rita and I have been an admin with SCP for two years now. I have been wanting to start an illness awareness campaign for a while now, but I had been too sick to follow through. The good news is Im feeling much better and I am ready to tackle this head on. I will be running these articles about illnesses we all suffer from, as well as rare illness that need awareness brought to them. I will try to include as much as I can about each illness, as well as how Western Medicine treats each disease and the options that are available, and procedures that may be done as well. I also intend to link relevant articles and/or clinical studies for each article I do, when the information is available. I would also like to research any common holistic remedies that are available as well. I would love each members input on these articles, especially from those that suffer or know people that suffer from the particular illness being discussed at that time. My hope is to bring awareness to those that dont understand what we deal with on a daily basis and to bring light to many illnesses that are so rare that many dont know much about it. I am hoping this can become a learning tool for those that live with or are supporting people that suffer from chronic pain and chronic illness and to help make them better caregivers. Please if you have any ideas about things that could be added to each article or ideas to make the campaign simple to.understand, but complete, feel free to leave a comment below (please only positive and helpful information, thank you) and everyone will be read and consider. Once the campaign gets going I will be asking for illnesses that you would like to see covered and possibly even ask a member or two to write a personal history (only if they are comfortable with doing so), and share with us what it is like to live with said illness from day to day and how it affects your life. I truly believe that this is going to be a great resource an awesome discussion tool, and beneficial for many. I truly hope to see all of our members participate on the illnesses that they know about. Feel free at any time to message the page if you have input on the campaign Im running that week and would like me to consider adding it to the article. I will start listing the campaign and the illness at least a week before I come out with the article, that way anyone who wants to participate may do so with plenty of time. I truly look forward to delving into this with all of you. Please keep in mind that there are a lot of illnesses to be discussed and I will cover as many as I can each week, but I promise to work with each and every member and do as many campaigns as I can and cover as many illnesses as possible. Cant wait to get started. Please keep in mind that we need the participation of our members to make this successful, so please list any ideas that you may have that could be added to each campaign to give the ultimate amount of information for each illness awareness.
