TRAIN HORN FOLLOW-UP. This information is a follow-up to concerns - TopicsExpress

TRAIN HORN FOLLOW-UP. This information is a follow-up to concerns I have fielded from those I represent here in West Allis District 3. The response to me from a DOT official this afternoon: The trains are blowing their horns at night as they come through the flagged Workzone at the hwy 100 and UPRR i94 Workzone. Walsh has been working day and night and utilizing a night Flagger recently. UPRR requires the train to sound horn as it comes through active Workzone. This will occur whenever night flagging operations are underway. This is a temporary situation. The good news we heard today is that Walsh will not be needing a night shift any more until early to mid July. So there will be a short reprieve on the night work and horns until mid summer. Then mid to late July through possibly early august will likely bring night RR work and horns. Contractor will work nights only when necessary. Future impacts are limited.
