TRAVELING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON? This one of for the Grovites on te road or living outside of the Grove. I have been all over the State of Texas, so I sat down and made a list of some of the cities and towns I have visited. The list is not, by any means complete. Dont try to read the list out loud. . folks may think youre crazy. See if you recognize any of these places. . . I have been to Spring, Dripping Springs, Hugh Springs, Carrizo Springs, Sulphur Springs, Big Springs, Big Sandy, Pecos, Mineola, Point, Wills Point and Seven Points, Canton, Kilgore, Longview, Henderson, Carthage, Tenaha, Timpson, Bobo and Blair, Longview, Marshall, Mount Vernon and Mount Pleasant, Pleasant Grove, Union Grove, Grove and Gladewater, Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Bryan-College Station, Mexia, Waxahachie, Luckenbach, Bandera, New Braunsfield, Dumas, Dallas and Hooks, Harlingen, El Paso, Pecos, Monahans, Odessa-Midland, and Sweetwater - where they had no water. I have also been to Farmer’s Branch, Farmersville, Pflugerville, Lewisville, Kingsville, Hallsville, Huntsville, Hallettsville, Brownsville, Beeville, Gainesville, Gatesville, Greenville, Stephenville , Martinsville, Martin’s Mill, and Woodville, Castle Hills, Cedar Hills, and Hillsboro. I’ve been to Royse City, Johnson City, Crystal City, Colorado City, Sterling City, Bay City, Texas City, and Gun Barrel City, what a pity – then there was Galveston, Tomball, Tom Bean, West, Westlaco, Wells, Waco, Whitesboro, Winnsboro, Whitehouse, and Whitewright (which wasn’t right), then- there was Roanoke, Luckenbach, Lone Star, Lone Oak, Red Oak, Robstown and Georgetown. I have also been to Paint Creek, Paint Rock, Rockwall, Rockport and Port Lavaca, Port Aransas, Port Isabel and Port Arthur and a real small town called Houston, which is a suburb of Pasadena, Texas. I’ve been to Balcones Heights, Glen Heights, Harker Heights, and Alamo Heights, San Saba, San Antonio, San Marcos, and San Angelo, Honey Grove and Copperas Cove, Coppell, Conroe, Corsicana, Texarkana, “Amarilla”, and Tex-Mex, Temple, Terrell, Forney, and Tulia- Lampasas, Eagle Pass, Aransas Pass and El Paso, Denton, Denison and Dublin-where they used to make Dr. Pepper . . .which wasn’t near Commerce, or Fate, or Athen, Palestine, Atlanta, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Edinburg or Fredericksburg, Paris, Troy. I’ve been to Eustace, Euless, and Muleshoe, Edgewood, Brownwood, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Lake Jackson, Lake Sam Rayburn, Lake Ray Hubbard, White Rock Lake, Lake Dallas, Lake Worth, Fort Worth, Fort Stockton, Lake O the Pines, Wichita Falls, Marble Falls, Falls County, Humble, and Fruitvale. I’ve been to Seguin, Gonzalez, Crocket, Washington-on-the Brazos, Bowie, Austin, Mission, Three Rivers and Falfurrias - Padre Island, South Padre Island, Mustang Island, Galveston Island , Corpus Christi, Uvalde, the Rio Grande Valley, Valley, Valley View, View and Plainview, and Lubbock in my review mirror. Then, there was Bug Tussell, just a wide spot at two intersecting roads in zip code 75449. There is nothing there. But I started on in PLEASANT GROVE in Southeast Dallas. . . .
