TROOP B - NEWS RELEASE November 22, 2014 Louisiana State Police Troop B Grants Disney Vacation Wish to 12Year Old Boy On November 22, 2014, the Louisiana State Police Troop B Children’s Grant-A-Wish Foundation granted the wish of a 12 year old boy, Tyler Cambre of Reserve, LA. In 2012, Tyler was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma Tumor on his brain after he began having difficulties with his eye sight. In April 2012, he had surgery and doctors were able to remove 80% of the tumor, with the other 20% being inoperable. Following surgery, the Troop B Grant-A-Wish Foundation attempted to grant Tyler’s wish of going to Disney World for the first time. However, do to his medical treatments and his doctors recommendations, he was not able to travel. His wish was postponed. For 2 years, Tyler has been receiving Proton Radiation treatments at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. Tyler’s family has been financially responsible for paying for the radiation treatments and holding hope for his recovery. Tyler is a very active 6th grader, who loves to play football, baseball and most of all hunt and fish with his Dad. Recently, Tyler received the encouraging news that the tumor has shrunk and he is now able to travel. The Troop B Children’s Grant-A-Wish will be sending Tyler and his family to Disney World for a 7-day vacation, where they spend quality family time together and enjoy the happiness Tyler blesses their lives with each day. The Troop B Children’s Grant-A-Wish Foundation is open to children that have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness or disease that live in the Troop B area. The Troop B area consists of Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Charles and St. John the Baptist parishes.
