The potential landfall area of this depression shall be near the border of Surigao del Norte and Surigao Del Sur onThursday afternoon, April 10. Residents and visitors along Mindanao and Visayas should closely monitor the development of TD Peipah (Domeng). Rain Accumulation (near and west of the center): 2 to 300 mm [Slight to Extreme]Size (in diameter): 610 km (Small)Past Movement: West-Southwest at 22 kphForecast Movement: West to Northwest at 14 kphTowards: Northeastern Mindanao 3-DAY FORECAST OUTLOOK* Peipah (Domeng) is expected to continue moving generally westward within the next 24 hours and will turn to northwest with significantly decreasing speed through 48 to 72 hours. On the forecast track, the core of TD Peipah continues traversing the South Philippine Sea through Thursday morning...and will make landfall near the border of Surigao Del Sur and Surigao del Norte on Thursday afternoon. Peipah (Domeng) is expected to maintain its strength throughout the forecast period. Advance Intensity Forecast (AIF) shows its 1-minute maximum sustained winds remains at 55 kph. WEDNESDAY MORNING: Turns to NW across the western part of South Philippine Sea, closer to Surigao Del Sur...about 190 km ESE of Bislig City, Surigao Del Sur [8AM APR 09: 8.0N 128.0E @ 55kph]. THURSDAY MORNING: Still a Tropical Depression and continues moving northwest closer to the northern part of Surigao Del Sur...about 140 km SE of Surigao City [8AM APR 10: 9.0N 126.6E @ 55kph]. CYCLONE HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND Below are the regions or places in the Philippines with possible or ongoing effects caused by the current tropical cyclone. EASTERN AND NORTHEASTERN MINDANAO: Heavy rains of 50 to 100 mm are likely to be experienced beginning Tuesday evening until Friday...becoming heavy to extreme rains of more than 100 mm with Tropical Storm Force Winds of not more than 75 kph across the provinces of Surigao Del Norte, Surigao Del Sur and Dinagat including Siargao Island.
