TROUT RUN - ANOTHER AREA FAMILY LEFT HOMELESS FOLLOWING HOUSE FIRE - Seven people, including three children, safely escaped this home along Rose Valley Road, near the Gamble-Cascade township line, when a fire broke out about 9:15 this morning. I walked into the bathroom and the toilet was on fire, Kelly Morgan, 38, told a reporter at the scene. He got out along with his fiancee, Deandra Porter, 29, her three children, and two friends, Casey Shaffer, 21, and sister, Katie-Mae Shaffer. Most of the fire was confined to a first-floor room at the back of the house, Trout Run Fire Chief Robert Whitford said. However, the home sustained heavy smoke and heat damage. The local chapter of the American Red Cross was providing emergency assistance. While one family dog escaped, another perished in the fire. Firefighters from seven communities responded to the fire. In fourth photo, volunteers bring coffee and other refreshments for the working firefighters and the fire victims. Fifth photo shows team of Montoursville firefighters as they get ready to leave the scene. Exhaust fans, such as the one shown in last photo, were used to clear smoke from the house. Damage was in excess of $75,000, Whiteford said/ph
