TRUMPET CALL 12/6/2013 Jesus said; “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” REVELATIONS 22:14 WHO THEN IS A FAITHFUL AND WISE SERVANT ? {MATTHEW 24:45} Moses the servant of the Most High was adjudged faithful {Hebrews 3:5}. When God called him, before God gave him no choice, he felt he was not the man for the job. God actually got angry with him for trying to dodge the responsibility of bringing God’s people out of bondage in Egypt. He had become meek and humble by his fellowship with sheep in land of his exile Median. He did not make it to the Promised Land because he finally succumbed to provocation from his people. Joshua and Caleb on the other hand were adjudged by God to possess a different spirit, a spirit that was full of faith {Numbers 13:30, 14:6, 24}. Of all the people that left Egypt, they were the only ones that made it to the Promised Land. One of the main reasons they made it was that they believed in the God that promised them rather than believe in their abilities. Those who did not make it saw giants instead of God, Joshua and Caleb saw God instead of the giants. They did not consider it pride, presumption or arrogance to seek what God commanded them to seek. Those who see giants, who consider God’s vision for His people and the Church as presumption, pride, arrogance or looking unduly for perfection, are in the danger of continuing their stay in the wilderness. This was the thinking that led the Church into the dark ages. We ignored all the warnings and the sound teachings of Jesus and His apostles. It got so bad that people were taught that it was sacrilegious for anyone who was not a priest to look into the Bible. It became heresy for anyone to recite the Lord’s Prayer in any other language other than Latin. Should history continue to repeat itself ? The New Covenant is not a covenant for high achievers. It is a covenant of surrender. It is not about what we can do, but rather what God would do if we let Him. It would be false and erroneous to give anyone the impression that the image of Christ is an achievement or an attainment, it is a gift of accomplishment of the Spirit of God by the Spirit of God, and the requirement for this is absolute surrender {Romans 12:1-2}. The issues God is addressing in this season are precisely misrepresentations and misinterpretation of the Scriptures. He has warned against adding to what he did not say {Revelations 22:18}. But why does it always seem as if God’s commandment are unattainable ? Because we have taught and believed what is not true, and that they are an attainment. The New Covenant was instituted because of God’s plans for the human race, which was to redeem and restore man to his lost glory. This plan is for those who believe to be transformed and conformed to the image of His Son {Romans 8:29}. The Holy Spirit was then given to accomplish this task in man because Jesus Christ paid the penalty of our sins. So if we are not supposed to be perfect, Jesus would not have commanded it. He said “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” {Matthew 5:48} What would be erroneous and unbelief is to think or say that this is pride or presumption. If the full measure of stature of Christ {Ephesians 4:13} is the work of man, then it will have been considered an achievement, but not so in anyway. It is He who began it who will accomplish it {Philippians 1:6}, it is Him who is working to will and to do of His good pleasure {Philippians 2:13}, and faithful is He who called us who also will do it {1 Thessalonians 5:24}. Any other teaching that does not agree with His word should be considered false, erroneous and sacrilegious. This is how the Church got into the ditch in the first place. Paul warned against such teachings when he admonish against the use of philosophy {Colossians 2:8}. Apostle Peter also warned about wresting God’s word and teachings to subvert the faith of people {2 Peter 3:16-18}. If one is on a flight from a country to another, not arriving at the point of destination will be considered an accident or a crash. The last thing the Church needs is unnecessary teachings that subvert peoples’ faith. Teaching people that what God put in the Scriptures are not possible and seeking it is pride or presumption is dangerous. We should all remember that some day we will give account of what we said. When a the righteous turns back and starts telling people what is not true, the word said his righteous works will be forgotten {Ezekiel 18:24}. Do not let anyone take your crown ! Kathryn Kuhlman was fond of saying that believers have an ocean full of blessing, but settle for a teaspoon full. This happens when we believe that what God said were just words. Those who believe should stay focused, surrender, inquire and require until you acquire. This is the New Covenant way. Please do not believe anything contrary to what God said. Those who did not make it to the Promised Land had a mentality that kept them in the wilderness. This new generation should avoid such mentality. If God said it, He will do it. Ours is to find out what to do, what our role is. This is what faithful people do. Jesus and His apostles taught His disciples that He does not know when He will return {Matthew 24:36}, and that we are not to concern ourselves with the time and season of His return. And He said to them, “It is not for you to become acquainted with and know what time brings [the things and events of time and their definite periods] or fixed years and seasons (their critical niche in time), which the Father has appointed (fixed and reserved) by His own choice and authority and personal power.” {Acts 1:7 AMP} This is to reiterate His teaching about faithfulness to His commandments. So He said as in the text Scripture “Blessed is that servant whom His Lord when He cometh shall find so doing.” {Matthew 24:46}. The faithful believer will seek (inquire and require) first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This process will expose that believer to what to do. Paul the apostle then warned against dissipating ourselves with unproductive arguments {1 Timothy 1:4, 1 Timothy 4:1-2, 2 Timothy 2:16, Titus 3:9-10}. When Jesus would return should not bother us, He is returning as a thief in the night {1 Thessalonians 5:2, 2 Peter 3:10}. What the Church needs most are the simple teachings that are in the Scriptures, no need for conjectures and reasoning that have been the main reasons why it looks as if Christianity does not work. If we stay on course, we will inherit the Promised Land, the purchased possession {Ephesians 1:14}. We will be considered faithful and trustworthy. The world will see our light {Matthew 5:16}. No true believer will say “Look I have become like Christ” that will be a fake testimony. But when the world can say “You must be a Christian” and politicians and kings can come to us for solutions {Isaiah 60:3}, just like God promised, then we will be able to say “Look what the Lord has done”. Not what we have accomplished, but what Christ has done. And all the glory will be to God. This is the New Covenant way, Amen ! Brethren this is a love message, but love messages are not for compromise. Compromise at this stage will be nothing but betrayal and sacrilege. May God grant us His grace for obedience, Amen ! Have a blessed day/night !
