TTIP: Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership - or rather Transnational (corporations´) Takeover In Progress? The big multinationals (or: transnational corporations) are - by opaque financial constructions in tax havens - hardly paying any taxes any more, which deprives countries of the financial means necessary to reach public welfare and environment protection goals. Some of them have more budget than whole countries. Their power is beyond imagination, and they are using it against society by destroying our ecosystem and avoiding justice by exploiting the status quo characterized by missing global governance structures. Now they are preparing their finishing move: Through agreements like the TTIP, a flea they put in the ear of the EU commission and the US government, democracy shall finally be changed to an oligarchy under their hegemony. Our environment, small and medium enterprises and the majority of the public (i.e. everyone except the main shareholders of the multinationals) are falling by the wayside. Yes, the system itself is wrong and needs to be changed, etc. - still: We have to start somewhere.
