TTOD: (just a couple things I thought of over the events of the last week....meant to happen, ....coincidence,.....thats cool,..... or whatever......you decide Last sat as I sat in a room on the transplant floor there were several nurses getting me prepped for surgery.....this was the start of a magnitude of needles and such being shoved in my body. We were constantly getting updates on when I was going down for surgery because we were still waiting on the newly procured liver to get to TGH. What a great view we had......water, bridges, concrete etc. A little after 6:00 I see a lifelink helicopter fly out and I jokingly said to MK ole boy is goin to get my liver.......... Then around 8:30 same helicopter flies back by and I say there is my liver! Not long after 9:00 I was being wheeled into surgery. Hmmmmm? Last night as I slept in my new place I heard the helicopter from right across the street at TGH take off and land a few times.....that might upset some people from sleeping.....not me....I was happy to be awake because I knew that helicopter was either leaving with a new life for someone else or coming back to give someone a second chance. Thats awesome! Ill gladly be awoken for that! Im a survivor!!!!! I have a lot of great, caring, loving friends! Thanks so much! My body will never accept my new liver because it was never in my parts bin....I wasnt born with it but the body will eventually just tolerate it because of anti rejection medicine---- I have to take that medicine twice, daily for the rest of my life. I shared that plethora of knowledge with you just to say the following by the way.....this morning I sat down with my nurse to take my pills (today is a 15 pill day) and for nothing but to double check doses and quantities I added up the cost of my month supply of pills and its an astonishing $4800 a month. Wow! Love him or hate him, I signed up for ObamaCare or the health care reform act last November and my total out of pocket for the month is $4! Love my President! Im a survivor!!!! This afternoon the brighthouse guys showed up to install the cable and im not wearing a shirt so they ask me what happened.....and in the back of my mind im hoping they are hourly employees because im like oh hell yes, im telling my story! They listened, they saw the staples, they installed and on the way out one guy asked me how many staples I had. Then it dawned on me that its been a week and I never counted. Count I did. Almost done. I was on the 8th floor at the hospital. Im fairly confident each floor has 76 rooms. The wing I was in had 9 floors with the eighth being strictly devoted to transplant patients Stay with me.....im on floor 8, room 34. Ok? Guess how many staples I have in me? Hmmmm......
