TYPES OF EPILEPSY: 1.MINOR EPILEPSY: Characterised by seizures that can last for just a fraction of a minute. After this the casualty/patient fully recovers immediately with only a brief lapse of memory of the event. 2.MAJOR EPILEPSY: Characterized by the grand mal seizures. Sequence of events: Warning period (Aura) – usually a strange sensation- a strange smell, vision, sound, feeling or taste. May yell, collapse and Stiffness: arched back, clenched fists &jaws (Grand mal seizure/fits). Incontinence (Loss of control of bladder and bowel), sweating, salivation. Exhaustion follows, where the casualty may fall into a deep sleep or Unconscious develops.
