Leonard agreed to video an event that was sponsored by our religious group, and said that he would turn it over to us. Too bad we didnt put it to writing, because when we went to him to get the video, he told us that it was his own intellectual property. We were set up based on our inexperience. He gave us a copy, but after all, it was our event. I thought that it would automatically become our own intellectual property. Long story short...we werent too intellectual!! Leonard Stephens and Andre Alporter/ OUR TV Come Show your support of the West Oakland Stories film produced by Ed Howard at the Oakland court house, 1221 Oak St., Oakland CA on September 25, 2014 at 9:00 AM, Department 14. Be there to show the judge that we will not let anyone disrespect the Black Elders of Oakland in this film. Ed Howard, have filed a grievance and complaint on allegations of fraud and theft through deception by OUR TV’s Leonard Stephens and André Alporter in their portrayal of a legitimate business (not filed with the California Secretary of State), which has turned out to be nothing more than a confidence scam. They are publicly proclaiming that they are the producers of the West Oakland Stories film of the 1940s, 50s and 60s. The dispute centers on Ed Howard’s right to obtain a finished digital file master from OUR TV’s Mr. Leonard Stephens and Mr. André Alporter’s Edit Digital System, over 6 hours of raw unedited film as well as the embezzled funds from the initial funds raised paid to OUR TV for filming of the WOS. André Alporter of OUR TV has been served by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office to appear in court on the above date. Leonard Stephens of OUR TV has moved from his residence in Hayward and closed his business, OUR TV in Oakland, since Ed Howard exposed his scam and not having a legitimate business. Help Ed Howard find him by giving any leads of his whereabouts, such as his home address, job information, etc. The West Oakland Stories is a collection of Black elders who lived in West Oakland and Oakland in the 40s; 50s and 60s talking in a down-to-earth conversation about how special it was to grow up in West Oakland during that time. Most of them did not realize it at that time but now they know how different, unique and special they were. They placed West Oakland and Oakland on the map in their time, across this country and the world. No one should forget that. We must honor the stories and images of the elders who lived this experience because they may not be here much longer to show it themselves.
