Take a deep breath. clear your mind. Imagine this in your minds eye: You have just entered Alley of the Arts, in the heart of the lovely village of Gulfport. Your senses are piqued in anticipation of an evening of unusual creativity. That thought is lost as your sense of smell picks up the unmistakable smell of BBQ over an oak fire. Then you see the white tent on your left. Through the palm garden fence you see a table resplendent with a fine freshly made BBQ feast. Your eyes are then drawn just beyond into an active artists studio, sculpture and blown glass everywhere, as you are warmly greeted by staff or a board member of IACG. You have arrived at a private event where you, and a hand full of other intelligent and interesting people, will enjoy an evening of creative energy you will talk about for some time to come. While enjoying a scrumptious meal, the resident artist and hot shop floor team create a sand mold blown vessel form, a signature piece of the resident artist, which will be given away on the spot after the demo. You are all then invited into the studio where every couple makes a blown vessel, while others are making a paperweight. And the torches will be going, allowing you to try lamp work, small scale hot glass. All the time being lead by an artist who loves to teach. And our latest addition, the Querk, where we pull one couples, or individuals name from a hat which allows them to make 2 vessels. All this for less than the cost of a fine meal for two, and a movie.
