Take action against bigotry right here in America. Mr. Jerry Evans General Manager KKFT-FM Radio Station Mr. Lee Matthews Program Director KTOK-AM Radio Station Gentlemen: I write to you after listening to a most disturbing segment of your radio talk show where Mr. Roberts rants about the immortal dangers posed by Americans citizens of the Muslim faith: • Every American Muslim and every American mosque should be placed on a watch list. • Islam is a cult, not a religion. • People become Muslims and stay with Islam through fear and intimidation. • Ban Muslims from coming to the United States. • Quran encourages Muslims to lie. • The ultimate goal of Islam is world domination. • Compares Islam and Muslims to dangerous disease. • Islam is a cave-dwelling, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing doctrine. Mr. Roberts knowledge and interpretation of Islam is rather shallow, myopic and sadly misinformed. Selecting quotation of passages from the holy Quran to ‘prove’ Islam’s threats begets only deliberate defaming of world religion. You can find equally troublesome section in all world religions once you take them out of context. The same Bible that commands Jews to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) also exhorts them to “kill every man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey,” who worship any other God (1 Sam. 15:3). The same Jesus Christ who told his disciples to “turn the other cheek” (Matthew 5:39) also told them that he had “not come to bring peace but the sword” (Matthew 10:34), and that “he who does not have a sword should sell his cloak and buy one” (Luke 22:36). The same Quran that warns believers “if you kill one person it is as though you have killed all of humanity” (5:32) also commands them to “slay the idolaters wherever you find them” (9:5). I hope Mr. Roberts will recant his horrific statements about Islam and its adherents. American Muslims are in the forefront fighting extremism in all its forms. And when Mr. Roberts incite others to discriminate against Muslim citizens, his claim to free speech ends; and my right to seek legal redress for his violations of my basic rights commences.
