Take an ordinary plastic drinking straw, cut it, hold one end closed with some needle-nose pliers and use a lighter to seal that end. Stuff the tube with vaseline impregnated cotton, hold the other end shut with pliers and seal it. Now youve got a waterproof fire tender packet. You can put all sorts of this in straws like this... such as medicine, wood shavings (for fire fuel), and about anything else that doesnt need much space.
