Taken from her book, "Faith is Now - Reaping Your Harvest" Darla writes: IT’S OUR WORK TO BELIEVE It’s work to sow to your spirit. In John 6:28-29, the disciples asked Jesus “What must we do to do the works of God?” Jesus answered the disciples and said, “The work of God is to BELIEVE.” Listen, we know that when doubt and unbelief hits our mind it is WORK to believe. When the circumstances around us doesn’t look anything like the Word of God, IT IS WORK TO BELIEVE! It is work to hold fast to the profession (confession) of our faith, Hebrews 10:23, when our mind is being attacked by what we see and know through our natural senses. We know this, that the JUST LIVE BY FAITH, Hebrews 10:38, we make our living by faith, by working the works of God, which is to Believe. It’s work to confess the word on a daily basis throughout the day every day. This is sowing to the Spirit. The world caters to flesh: Many Christians cater to the flesh as well. Instead of attending to spiritual matters they do what they feel like doing. OTHERS MAY, BUT YOU MAY NOT – Some Christians can’t be your standard if you want to work the works of God. It may be okay for so-and-so to watch that movie, but your spirit is convicted. It is work to believe.
