This is about the plan to expand rail shipment of open top flatcars carrying US coal through Delta and Surrey, creating new ports in Surrey to export this coal to the far east, and resistance to this business plan by residents that oppose carriage of exposed coal and resultant coal dust permeation in airs of Delta and Surrey residents as well as the need to promote this kind of business - exporting US coal through Canada - with regard to carbon footprint and the very idea that economic activity at any cost to environment is an acceptable model for presumed economic growth. Those interested - welcome to attend. The effort to block this proposal has joint Canada-US participation. Guest speaker comes from bellingham, Washington State, USA - who are, proverbially, in the same boat.
