Tami Casey Patton and I finished jury duty today. When we initially checked in yesterday we told them we are sisters. The receptionist said Really, to my knowledge we have never had sisters called at the same time but dont worry about it because the draws for actual jury selection are random and there is very little chance you will be called together. First 30 people were called out of the 135 people in the room and we were both called. We went to the courtroom and met with lawyers and judge. Next it was narrowed down to 18. We were both in the 18. at this point we decided we should tell someone else we are sisters. We told the bailiff and she looked amazed and said REALLY??? She approached the judge and although we could not hear their conversation he looked over at the jury pit over his glasses and you could tell he also said REALLY?? He called the attorneys over and told them about the sisters and they both shrugged and said it was ok with them. So we were on a jury together! We were the talk of the courthouse. It was a fun experience and we made history!
