Taraba Facts DSK FOUNDATION TO OFFER SCHOLARSHIP TO 500 TARABA STUDENTS --------------- ----------- A foundation known as David Sabo Kente (DSK) Foundation said it will offer scholarship to 500 indigent students of Taraba State to study various programmes in Nigerian higher institutions. Chairman of the DSK Scholarship Scheme, Elijah Attaba’ani said the scholarship is to afford less privileged students from across the 16 local government areas of the state to further their studies. He said the founder of the DSK Foundation, Chief David Sabo Kente, introduced the scheme last year with 344 beneficiaries and has increased the number to 500 this year to enable more students benefit. According to him, those in the sciences got N50,000 while those in the arts and humanities got N25,000 each during the last year batch, adding that the amount to be disbursed for this year would be made known after the ongoing screening of the potential beneficiaries. A potential beneficiary, Rabiu Usman of the University of Maiduguri expressed happiness over the scheme which he said would encourage less privileged students to acquire education. On her part, Clara Nyabom, a student of Taraba State University lauded the scheme and urged other well to individuals from the state to emulate same so as to make education accessible to the indigent ones.
