Taylor Swift…what ARE you talking about? This footage spliced - TopicsExpress

Taylor Swift…what ARE you talking about? This footage spliced into this video…is old. This stuff doesnt happen here that much any more. The people who used to do these things and participate in these things….cant pay $3,000/month rent. Since youre supposed to be NYCs new Spokeswoman, why dont you tell the REAL truth…that most of the people in your video have been pushed out, and the ones who could afford to come in to replace them are Douchebags? UNTILL you can say that a person can RELIABLY find a reasonably priced apartment, and by reasonably priced I dont mean $1500/month or more for rent, that is Unreasonable, I mean $1000 or LESS - UNTILL you can say that, please dont flap your lips about how unique New York is right now. I can find a better Goth Industrial experience in New Jersey - that says a TON about what has happened here. There is a grand total of exactly TWO main Alternative stores left, the ultra expensive Trash and Vaudeville, and the more moderately priced but cookie cutter Gothic Rennaisance. Thats….not good enough. For the East Village to exist as a Bohemian district, it needed HUNDREDS of stores, bars, cheaply priced restaurants and cafes, reasonably priced apartments, etc - these two stores arent cutting it, AT ALL. There has been talk of affordable apartment buildings but the people chosen to be in these places are usually champion paper pushers who are able to manipulate and fill out forms to get in someplace - those people are usually mediocre artists at best. When the criteria for moving into an affordable apartment for Artists is being a great paper shuffler and manipulator, youre not going to get the best people, youll get the pretenders and Douchebags out of the crowd. That should be obvious. There needs to just simply be easily accessible, affordable apartments, PERIOD - not have some draconian and convoluted selection process. Everyone Knows that real Artists detest paper pushers and paper pushing. The truth is, I could have the EXACT SAME experience that i Have here, somewhere else for a lower price, and probably even a better experience due to the fact that resources wouldnt be so scarce. The few remaining alternative event producers here fight over scraps and crumbs of what once was - that is a turn off to anyone who wants to get involved. Its such a dumbed down version of what it was, that development of any new artists in this are at this point is stalled and hardly even possible. I think you lost credibility with this video, really. I mean, I personally dont get into your music but thats to be expected because I mainly listen to very Underground, Subculture Specific music as a personal choice. I know you have a lot of fans - I dont think you should lie to them about what is really going on and what has really gone on here. What about if they move here due to your word, and find out that all the good stuff is over and what you said really wasnt true? If they move here, #1 its not going to make the prices go down so very few of them will be able to actually stay here any length of time, and #2 - your fans…are really mainstream. The last thing NYC needs is a flood of more mainstream people to crowd it even further without contributing any uniqueness. Think about what youre saying please. youtu.be/ukxGWe18GOs
