Te Araroa Trail - Monday 29 December 40 ks for the day. Started walking a bit earlier than usual at 6:30. Knocked out a long section along the beach, breakfasting on the last of my Tararua salami, cheese and peanuts, watched the beaches morning activity unfold as we walked, got dragged in for a couple of cups of coffee and cheese scones by a lovely couple from Paekakariki. Had a pie and milkshake and walked on to Pukerua Bay for lunch of litre OJ and ice cream. Headed for Plimmerton stopping just past for a couple of beers and caught the end of the cricket, walked on to Porirua. Quick beer and fish & chips and walked on to a camp in a little patch of bush just outside Porirua CBD.
