Teach Us To Number Our Days Have you ever sat down with a pen and paper or calculator and counted the number of days you have lived, instead of the years you have lived on this earth. If you have ever done this exercise, then perhaps some of you have discovered you have lived more days behind you, and the days before you seem few. If you did this test and it revealed you have fewer days before you, what do you think would be your thoughts or reactions? This is a difficult question to answer because all individuals do not all think or consider life through the same eyes or beliefs. Nor do I know or understand every person’s past and present life that often determines a person viewpoint of life now and their future life to come. Personally, I accept the truth that I have more days behind me than days before me. Knowing and accepting this truth that I have live in between thousands of the Lord’s sunsets, nights and sunrises I do not live in my sunset years with fears. Why should I fear the remaining days, because the Lord’s sunrises and sunsets are similar to Him, they have a beauty and glory about them that are often indescribable? I would not take anything for all the sunrises, sunsets and nights I have enjoyed, because I know and have walked with the Lord. My reward will be to look upon His beauty and glory forever. Beyond the sunset, oh blessed morning (night) with my Savior in heaven, life has just begun. Earth’s toiling has ended, oh; glorious dawning when day is done when I will sit down with God’s Son whom I longed to see. My greatest days and day is before me.
