Teachers Ive had a many good teachers in school and a few exceptional ones , you know the ones who infect you with the desire to learn or teach you something other than the curriculum , they teach you life . Lets get this straight Im only talking about this group Teachers . My first real lesson from a real teacher was Miss Gordon , she taught all of us children of grade 2 and 3 all we needed to know about being a happy and good person , that beautiful smile on that wrinkled old face , the love and care she gave to her sister who had some sort of debilitating disease where she shook constantly . The care she took to include everyone in everything . My next influential teacher Mr. Mcoombs he instilled in me the desire to read , I dont know how but he did it . He was also a mans man in that he was heavily into sports as education , which it is . Then my ultimate teacher Doug Shanahan . He was my physics teacher but he taught philosophy to me . He also helped with my choice of books , I met him several times after high school at which time he would try to remember who you were , my flattery was that he would ask me what books I was into now , and hearing he would also list more books on the subject , any subject he always knew the best reference . I have not seen Mr. Shanahan in years but I dont have to any time I read Kurt Vonnegut , Alvin Toffler , Norman Mailer, Charles Dickens or any of the wonderful books or authors I had been exposed to by his suggestion , or had been led to from these musings . I would dearly love to get his take on the internet and what he searched for . I hope , nay know what he would say Everything !
