Team Mitchell is back in play. We received a call at 1:17 p.m. advising us to get to the Nursing Home asap. We hurried here. Franks breathing was extremely shallow and labored. He did not open his eyes for hours. Tom and I had to leave after 4 hours. We returned 40 minutes later to find his eyes open. Tom even got him to drink a half cup of Ensure. Franks still hanging. Franks already been kicked out of hospice for refusing to die. No sense in me sugarcoating shit. When all nutrition and all liquids, except for sponges on a stick, are with held for 5 days, the least a patient could do is cooperate and DIE. Well, any of you who know Frank Mitchell know how stubborn he can be. Frank wouldnt cooperate so he was transferred back to Clipper Harbor. BTW, Any readers who do not know about hospice, look it up. If someone caged a sick dog and with held food and H2o for a week they would be vilified. Anyway, Im going to let that train of thought idle in the station a bit longer. Once more, still, and again, thank you all for being so cool and caring. Peace. Team Mitchell
