Team Pompeo, By now, most of you have seen Mr. Tiahrt’s first campaign commercial. It is shockingly negative. But, worse than that, it is shockingly misleading. You don’t have to take my word for it. The local media has proven it. ALL SIX ARE DEEMED MISLEADING! And all of that in just 30 seconds. Not one claim evaluated was deemed factual. That’s right: ZERO FACTUAL CLAIMS in his own commercial. So, when Mr. Tiahrt tells you that Mike Pompeo is a “jet setter” or that he “supports Obamacare,” is there any reason to believe him? Clearly, no. KAKE puts it quite plainly: The ad doesnt reference any legislation or make any statements about Pompeos issues. [Tiahrt] is just throwing out hot button issues being debated on Capitol Hill. That’s not leading, it’s misleading. Mr. Tiahrt simply does not have any real issues to talk about. The attack ads from Kansans for Responsible Government, Wink Hartmans Super PAC, are also 100 percent false. Not a single claim our campaign has made has been deemed anything other than factual. Mike knows too that if youve worked hard and done good things, you should be proud to talk about it. Let me tell you several true things about Mr. Tiahrt. These aren’t misleading: Mr. Tiahrt voted to raise his own pay five times while in Congress. We all expect members of Congress to live like we do. Can any of you raise your own pay? Mike will never vote to take more of your money for his pay; Mr. Tiahrt got earmarks for a Colorado company that later hired him after his unsuccessful run for Senate – again, your money, his pocket; Mr. Tiahrt earmarked money for things like blimp research in California and a research project in Southern England. This money could have stayed with Kansas families; and Mr. Tiahrt has not been endorsed by Kansans for Life, Kansas Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, or Kansas Livestock Association.
