Tears and Tinned Tomatoes Its tinned tomatoes, dear old Dad, that bring you most to mind; I mean no disrespect at all, its just that, well, I find That when I see them in the shops, I always think of you (Of course, I miss you all the time, not only when I queue). Its such an unexpected think, but, really, not at all, For tinned tomatoes, hot, on toast, when you werent at the hall, Were what you ate, and quite a lot, when corps life took your time, And, snacked for lunch, or tea, or both, enabled you to climb Those little hills of ministry as on your bike you rode, To visit, or to jumble-fetch; to lighten someones load. Those tinned tomatoes served you well; a modest, good C.O., Cycling captain, dear old Dad, Ill see you yet, I know.
