Tears of Joy and Happiness . I did understand why my MOM and DAD becomes so emotional and let some tears everytime I show them my results, from Grade 1 until this year January, 8th when they read my name on VOLKSBLAD. In August, 2013 I made it to the front page our local weekly paper Eastern Free State ISSUE, on my arrival from school I found it placed on the table with R500 on top. I asked my mom My love ke eng? Instead of explaining it to me, I just saw a tear rolling down her face and deep down I knew that I made her proud among other women. I then received a call from my dad asking me my waist and shoe sizes, still I did not get their point. However, when my Matric results were out. Like any learner I rushed to a filling station like an automobile that have insufficient fuel, I bought the VOLKSBLAD like any learner and my moms sister was there. I dont know why she was there or she though I might end up loosing left? Before I could even reach my name I heard a *BEEP, I turned the paper and checked the phone. Mr LC Selepe you are provisionaly accepted by the University of Johanessburg to study in the faculty of Humanities and you qualify for a Merit bursary that will cover 50% of your tuition fee. Honestly I saw the smile in her face and as tears rolled down, I could not suck mine back. 2014 was a year full of events which kept on making my parents proud. Getting my articles published in two different publications, passing my drivers licence and succeeding academically. I dont remember a day disappointing them and is not even part of my plans to do so in my entire life. Through their tears I find comfort and motivation, through their love I find courage and warmth and through my hardwork they find accusations and hate. I dont care what people may say. What matters is that those who hate will keep on hating because their kids did not even make it to Matric and they live with that disappointment forever.
